What do employers want from teachers in 2024?
Indeed, a platform for job seekers in the U.S. highlighted the top 6 skillsthat employers are looking for. These include:
- To educate and develop. In what format and to what temperament to teach the material - all of these we refer to as "hard skils" just like knowledge of the subject matter.
- Active listening. That is, being empathic and interested in the child's words.
- To be trustworthy. One of the hardest skills to learn is to take seriously the words of a little person.
- Encourage. Pay attention to even small successes and advancements in learning.
- Give feedback. The main goal is to correct mistakes, to form the concept that it is normal to fall and get up. Try to maintain the child's self-esteem.
- Plan. Any learning starts at point A and maps to point B. The skill is to continue on the path but be flexible to change.

- Learn from others. Like the next two, this skill is about experimentation and new experiences.
- Try new strategies. Then you won't be guessing at the right thing to do, but will know for sure.
