Simple eye exercises are a great preventative measure for decreased visual acuity.
When choosing gymnastics, the age of the child should be taken into account. Preschoolers can be helped by their parents, while older children can practice on their own.
It is important to consult a pediatric ophthalmologist beforehand.
We offer a set of exercises for schoolchildren:
- Palm house. It will improve blood circulation in the eyes and will be an excellent warm-up. It is very easy to perform: the child should cross his fingers and fold his palms so that a real "house" is formed, which he will place over the bridge of his nose. Fingers should stick to the forehead, and the palms of the hands to cover the eyes. Let the child actively blink, and also move the eyes to the right, then to the left, draw simple geometric shapes, letters, numbers. The time of performance is one or two minutes.
- A made-up picture. An exercise for both children and their parents. It helps to improve accommodation (the ability to perceive objects located at different distances). Together with your child, draw a picture with different details. Fix it anywhere. Let the pupil look at the picture and examine the details on it. Execution time - from 5 to 7 minutes.
- Nose painting. This is an interesting exercise where the child has to draw imaginary pictures with his nose. It can be done in any comfortable position: standing, sitting or even lying on the bed. During such drawing, the schoolboy can close his eyes. The exercise will also help to get rid of eye strain and neck muscles. So when a child sits for a long time at a school desk or in front of a TV screen, the blood flow in the neck area decreases, which contributes to the deterioration of blood supply to the eyes.
To be effective, calisthenics must be done regularly.
