How do we teach bilingual children Russian through live communication and immersion in a language environment
- Learn to speak and formulate sentences correctly in Russian

Palme School Methodology
Palme School is an online Russian language school for bilingual children and children abroad. More than 1,000 active students from 30+ countries study using an author's methodology based on communicative and lexical approaches.
11 principles of methodology
Cycle program
Focuses on the individual progress of each student, rather than a uniform pace for the group.
Communicative approach
The main goal is live communication. Students immediately speak in phrase structures, rather than memorizing rules.
Lexical approach
Language is learned not through individual words, but through set phrases that native speakers use.
Immersive learning
Full immersion through simulated environments: quests, virtual journeys, role-playing tasks.
Contextual material
Grammar and vocabulary are introduced in the context of real situations – culture, daily life, history, and literature.
Minimizing the interlanguage
Classes are conducted in Russian from the very first lesson. Visual aids and audio help with understanding without translation.
Project approach
Several lessons are united by a common task: children collect artifacts, solve riddles, and create a final product.
Neurobic exercises
Tasks for developing memory, attention, logic, and both hemispheres of the brain are included in each lesson.
Articulation warm-ups
Special exercises for correct pronunciation of sounds and their combinations — from the very first lessons.
Case method
Situational tasks immerse children in «live» language: dialogues, monologues, and improvisation in real scenarios.
Interactive formats
Multimedia, games, flashcards, audio, and video—every participant in the lesson is engaged and shares their language experience.

Palme School Methodology
What is the basis of the methodology?
Author's teaching system for bilingual children and children abroad. Based on communicative and lexical approaches: the child learns to use the language in life, not just memorize rules.
Who is the program suitable for?
For children aged 4–14 who are growing up outside of a Russian-speaking environment, speak multiple languages, or want to maintain the Russian language within the family.
How is the leveling system structured?
- A0 - no language experience.
- A1 — First reading skills and alphabet.
- A2 - Basic Grammar and Writing.
- B1 — texts, discussions, speech development.
- B2 — advanced bilingual level.
What is the communicative approach?
The child starts speaking in phrases from the very first lessons. We practice real dialogues, comprehension, and confident language use in everyday situations.
What is the lexical approach?
Children don't learn individual words, but rather complete expressions and speech patterns that native speakers actually use.
Are there games and interactive activities?
Yes. The lessons use quests, multimedia, flashcards, audio, video, storyline tasks, and game mechanics to keep the child engaged throughout the entire lesson.
How does the program differ from regular Russian lessons?
We don't teach «about the language,» but "in the language." Classes are held in Russian from the first lesson, with visual support, speaking practice, and natural immersion.
How is a child's progress tracked?
The program is cyclical: the child progresses through levels at their own pace. The teacher assesses skills, readiness for the next stage, and provides feedback to parents.
