Borscht is one of the traditional symbols of Russian cuisine. The word is recognized on every continent. In America, borscht is not just known — this soup has become part of the local diet and adapted to American tastes.

On the other hand, aspic, “herring under a fur coat,” and even caviar remain delicacies for the few. Not every American is ready to enjoy or even understand these tastes.
Where to Find Russian Food in America?
Americans have long been used to large communities of immigrants from the former USSR. That’s why in almost any city you can find stores with Russian products.
And it’s not just American goods repackaged for Russian customers. You can buy authentic “Kirieshki,” zucchini caviar, Russian dumplings, and buckwheat. These are real products from Russian manufacturers, shipped in small batches overseas.
Of course, there are also many Russian restaurants in the U.S. One of the most famous is “Russian Samovar” in New York. Founded by immigrants in 1986, it has even appeared in American movies and TV shows.
There are many other Russian cafés and restaurants as well. The U.S. is a multicultural country, offering everything needed for the comfort of any community.
That’s why so many Russian-speaking people choose America as their home — and find it a place where they can feel comfortable and at ease.
