These 5 actions will change your child's Russian by New Year's Eve if you start doing them in October.
1. Learn new words with your child every day. At least 1-2 words.
And make sentences with them. This disciplines and converts passive vocabulary into active vocabulary. You can do it orally, but if the child already knows how to write in Russian, it is better to write down the sentences additionally.
2.Find your child a Russian-speaking friend
Or speak to your child in Russian yourself, be a mentor, kind and understanding. In a supportive environment, progress goes 3 times faster than alone.
3. Create a Russian-speaking environment for your child
For example, set Russian as the main language in your child's gadgets. Stickers on the fridge with reminders - write in Russian. Listen to Russian songs at home, watch Russian cartoons and movies together. Anything - the main thing is that the child likes it.
4. Invite your child to watch a cartoon or movie in the Russian language
At least 5 minutes should be spent on parsing a phrase that is new to him, repeating it several times with the same intonation. This will give more than just watching a movie with subtitles. The list of movies can be found by reference.
5. Talk to your child about why you need to learn Russian
Explain why it is useful for him and why it is so important for you. The goals can be small (but so important), like wishing your grandmother a Happy New Year in Russian. Or it can be big: to pass the Russian as a foreign language exam and get extra credits for college.
You can study with your child at home on your own. But if you don't have enough time, come and study at Palme School.
At the introductory consultation with the methodologist you will discuss your language learning goals, test your child's knowledge level and choose a suitable learning format, as well as sign up for a trial lesson. The consultation with a methodologist is also free of charge and takes 20-30 minutes. To sign up, please fill in the form below.
