Sometimes it's hard for parents to find time for one child. What to say if there are several children? You have to do homework with one, play lego with the second, and change a diaper and sing a song to the third. Fortunately, there are ways to make time for your kids:
- Play sports or board games. Kids don't always need heart-to-heart conversations. Monopoly, Uno, ball and ring in the backyard are also great reasons to socialize. Just choose games that are age-appropriate for everyone.
- Do your homework together. The oldest kneads the dough, the youngest cuts out cookie molds, mom bakes, dad tastes.
- Socialize with one child while the other is at school. For example, while one of your children is studying Russian at Palme School on Saturday, you can read a book to the other child, and then the children will switch places.
- If one of the children is an infant, don't waste minutes even during the next feeding. While you are feeding your youngest, sit the older one next to you and talk to him. Infants get more attention anyway, so the presence of older children will not hurt.
- Take your second child to important events in the other's life. Like going to matches or performances. This is a great way to bring the family together.
- Socialize with your children during breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Even if you give each child 10 minutes a day, that's half an hour.
- Make healthy family traditions. For example, giving your children half an hour before bedtime or going for a walk to the park together once a month.
- If you want to talk to your child alone, agree on a specific time for each of the children. For example, one day dad tucks in his daughter and mom tucks in her son, and then you can switch.
Important: If you are talking to all the children at once, make sure that everyone has a chance to speak. Sometimes shy children are quiet and get lost in the face of the more active ones.
