Very soon all the Catholics of the world will celebrate the bright holiday of Christmas. For many people, it is the main holiday of the year. This means that preparations for it are in full swing.
All around, everything is imbued with a sense of festivity, the aroma of cinnamon and citrus... The holidays are coming!
Christmas traditions

Many families have special holiday traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation.
And if your family doesn't have Christmas traditions yet, it's time to create them.
Christmas is a family holiday. For most people, it is associated with love and care for those closest to them. But presents are far from the most important thing in the holiday.
Be the one to create a tradition and connect parents and children, grandparents and grandchildren through the bright celebration of Christmas.
You can write little notes of thanks to loved ones and fate all year long in a special box and read them out at the holiday table.
Come up with a tradition for how you will start the holiday day. Maybe it will be a certain breakfast dish or ritual.
Some families dress up in themed costumes. Or at least funny sweaters. Others make borscht or cookies “just like then” every year. Some explore every Christmas market in the neighborhood.
Ice skating among the twinkling garlands or even a family holiday sauna adds to the mood far more than any gift.
There are also those who traditionally celebrate Christmas away from home. For example, every time in a new country or simply in a rented house. There are no boundaries, only your desire.
Ideas for Christmas

Decorate the tree with your children or go to a Christmas fair. Plan a program of Christmas activities, because there are so many fun things to do in winter!
Kids will love camping out for Christmas events and winter activities.
Board games will complete any evening! And holiday movies will transport you to a true fairy tale.
And don't forget to get out into nature at least once during the holidays! It will create a special atmosphere and memories to last a lifetime.
Russian Christmas traditions
In Russia, Christmas is not celebrated on such a large scale. The main holiday is the New Year.
And at Christmas, it's customary to just have a small feast with your closest loved ones.
Russian people living abroad have different attitudes towards Christmas. Some assimilate and begin to celebrate Christmas as a major holiday. And some do not forget the old traditions.
Many Russian people prepare traditional dishes for the festive table - «Olivier» or «Herring under a fur coat». Foreign friends are usually wary of trying these dishes.
In general, it is not so important where you celebrate the holiday: in a Russian city with snowflakes on the glass or on the other side of the world. The most valuable thing about winter holidays is the warmth of your family, the late-night conversations and the feeling that you are loved and always welcome here.
