An excellent student, whom many parents set as an example for their children, is a real pride for mom and dad. But for a child to be happy to learn and enjoy his successes, it is important to inspire him and push him to new discoveries.
Psychoanalyst and parenting expert Lori Hallman has compiled nine simple rules to help adults and children treat learning as a way to explore the world in interesting ways:
- Suggest that your child go beyond the school program and learn more about a subject of interest
- Be interested in what you like best in lessons
- You don't have to evaluate a child's efforts. Better to let you focus on the joy of learning something new
- Focus more on the discoveriesnot the complexity of the material
- Write and draw success stories, share them on social media
- Apply a variety of sources for inspiration. This could be the environment, the library, the experiences of friends and acquaintances who have been successful in a field of interest to the child
- Allow children to learn for the sake of learning itselfnot for the sake of grades
- Inspire with your ideas other parents
- Learn how to measure success the number of exciting new ideas
Attention, love and care of parents will help a schoolchild not only to become an excellent student, but also to become interested in learning, to see in it an opportunity to make many discoveries.
