5 Life Hacks How to Develop Creativity and Creative Thinking in a Child

Creativity is hard to fake or "trigger" artificially, and the talent to create something new and original is highly valued in almost any field. All children have this talent - all you need is a little help in developing it:

- Don't spare the materials. Creativity is not just about drawings, but it is with visual art that everything begins. Buy pencils and felt-tip pens, paints and brushes, don't spare money for albums, plasticine and clay.

- Study together. But do not organize "lessons of creativity" by force. If you see that the child is enthusiastically molding a house out of plasticine, sit next to him, mold something of your own.

- Ask questions. Play a creative thinking game on the way to school or to class. Ask: "How else can you use a plastic bottle?", "What else can you do with a nail?", "What can you build a house with?". Have the child give several answers.

- Make up stories and fairy tales. A great way is to compose line by line. The child comes up with the first sentence, then you, then the child again. If he already knows how to write, write it down!

- Cook together. Cooking is a creative process! Mold dough together, create fun "pictures" from pancake batter or eggs and vegetables, put food on a plate in the form of a face or a house. Let the child do it himself!

And most importantly, give food for thought! Creativity needs nourishment: new impressions, images, ideas. And it is not difficult to organize this "feeding": it is enough to let your child read interesting books, watch interesting cartoons and movies. Take into account that now there is much more content than there was in your childhood. Let your child choose what he or she will watch or read.
